That was 5 years ago and I have only put roughly 13,000 miles on the car since and the last time I had it in the shop it blue a heater hose that I couldn't replace without buying the entire kit $900 for that and new rear shocks. The All Wheel drive had also went out the first 6 months so most of the 13,000 miles I have driven it has been on the front wheel drive shaft only and the rear drive shaft is still rolling around inside the car on the back floorboard. This dealer also pointed out that the Montana had many options including ON-STAR. but after I purchased the car I learned the it was an out of date analog system that On-Star no longer uses. I have replaced the battery 5 times do to a short that cannot be located and if it sets for more then 4 days I have to get a jump to start it . I have had both the power sliding side doors fixed twice and neither of them work and when Midas installed the rear shocks they actually had to put extra jack stand under it while it was on the lift because all the welds on one side of the frame are rusted through and a lot of it is just plain missing. I can't in all honesty say I feel cheated by them as much as I cheated myself for not getting it looked at by somebody independent before purchasing it and it is truly a lessened learned but I think I am justified by repeating the age old warning in this case "Buyer BEWARE." Before the car of your dreams turns into the car of your worst nightmare.
I STRONGLY Suggest anyone buying a car from this guy to get it inspected by an independent garage before buying. Here is why. in April of 2012 I was in need of a reliable used car and found 2002 Montana with 127K being sold on Craig's list buy this guy. I am not a mechanic but the car ran OK and I didn't see any fluids leaking and everything seemed to work so I paid him $5,575 for the car (I think he was asking $6K but gave me $425 off for the old 4 door Lincoln I had been driving. I had to leave the area right away and a week later I took my new Montana into the shop for a tune up and oil change as it didn't seem to have the power I thought it should have on the top end. It was at this time I learned it had blown interior gaskets and I either needed a new engine or have this one rebuilt and before I let them do anything I took it for a second opinion and found the first garage wasn't BS'ing me. 9 days and another 5 grand later I had a new factory crate engine installed and was headed home, I never even bothered to contact this guy because I figured the legal battle would cost me even more and besides I bought the car "AS-IS".
